How It Works
- Sign-upThrough Zeffy, the Canadian platform we use for tickets and donations. Before you finish, Zeffy will offer you the option of covering its transaction fee. That is optional and easy to decline.
- Tax receiptNica's Circle fees are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt. If you want a receipt, the Donor Circles below are the route.

Nica Rothschild, the Jazz Baroness
Kathleen Annie Pannonica Rothschild, “Nica” to her friends, was a patron and friend to some of New York's finest jazz musicians. Nicknamed the Jazz Baroness, she supported musicians practically as well as passionately: driving performers to gigs in her Bentley, hosting jam sessions in her hotel room, buying groceries, and retrieving pawned instruments.
Your contribution to Nica's Circle helps the BJP Music Foundation pay fair performance fees, look after the musicians who come to Calgary, and build a sustainable future for jazz in this community. We think Nica would like that.
Donor Circle
Donor Circles are in addition to Nica's Circle, not instead of it. For those who want to go further, the BJP Music Foundation's Donor Circles support the artists, the programming and the organization's future. Every level receives a charitable tax receipt, and each brings opportunities to connect more closely with the artists and the work the gift makes possible.
- $250
Artist's Circle
Supports the musicians directly: fair performance fees and the hospitality that makes a touring artist feel welcome in Calgary.
- $500
Patron's Circle
Supports programming and the day-to-day work of presenting a season, from artist hospitality to the sound engineer and photographer at concerts out of the house.
- $1,000 and up
Champion's Circle
Supports the organization's capacity to plan beyond the next concert: staffing, venue search, and multi-year projects.
Every gift matters, and every gift size is honoured. Donor Circles do not include early ticket access. For that, join Nica's Circle as well.
The BJP Music Foundation is a registered Canadian charity (#746812874RR0001).
